The History of the Hottest Ass on the Pass by Anca

I was part of a team that ran the other colorado relay
in 2006 and had a blast doing it! after my boyfriend
and i broke up, i was conveniently not invited to be
part of the team since it was his friends that started
it. as a result, i decided to put together my own
team, and in may i looked at the wild west relay
website. i sent out a mass email to my runner/active
friends, and within 24 hours i had 17 people
interested. two weeks later, i had 12 with a firm
commitment, and our first task was to come up with a
name. somehow, and very quickly, the name Hottest Ass
On The Pass came to me, and others were interested in
using it.

we set up a meeting at Fort Collins brewery, and most
were able to attend. while drinking some yummy beer we
were actually able to split up tasks and a month later
we met again, to follow up. everyone started training,
some trained together (we didn't take any pictures,
however!) and we're all excited to do this together.

three of us had to pull out due to injuries or family
commitments, and others were able to fill in the
spots. my friends are truly the best on earth, at one
point we had 6 volunteers wanting to be part of this
experience!

we're not part of a running club, none of us are
psychotic about running (except for maybe tim and
pete)...we're just all fun people from different walks
of life and we're all excited about completing this
fun event.


and by the way...i have two dogs, the only human food
they're allowed to have is beer
